DR MYSTERY
Our next Manchester session takes us to well-loved SOUP for an artist talk with Manchester based, multi-faceted artist, DJ and producer, DR MYSTERY.
As a DJ, DR MYSTERY has gained a reputation for her genre-bending style inspired by the rhythms of club music across the globe. She seamlessly blends various sounds whilst emphasizing narrative and sonic flow over rigid genre distinctions, all while keeping the dance floor energy high. She is no stranger to radio, having held residencies on NTS and Worldwide FM, as well as guesting on Rinse FM and others.
As a producer she weaves effortlessly between both dancefloor-ready slammers, filled with all the low end and detailing as is expected, and ethereal vocality in MYSTERY’s native tongue to create a cutting edge marriage between floor anthems and vulnerable songwriting. In 2022 her debut album 'Far From Home' via Ono entered the world - a dreamy release underpinning an eclectic take on leftfield techno, gaining support from Martha, OK Williams, Martyn & Mr Scruff.
She has also released on 3024, Manchester’s Left, Right & Centre, Berlin’s INDEX: Records and Twisting Knobs Records.
MYSTERY’s talent to traverse the intersections between dreams and reality through sonics in her productions and DJ sets, positions her as an electric producer/DJ and one of the serious ones-to-watch on the scene.

Keep up to date on all things CDR
Since we started back in 2001, CDR has been all about community, creating spaces for people to connect and develop through music.
Back in the Plastic People days, you could fit all of us in one small room around one soundsystem. Today, our projects and programmes extend from the dancefloor to schools, youth centres, as well as grassroots clubs and venues across the country and further afield. But in challenging times, with grassroots organisations like ours closing all around us, every bit of support counts.
Your help will enable us to continue delivering music programmes and events in the UK to the people who need it most. Our mission is simple: to build an equitable music ecosystem for producers and artists.
