In late 2022, Hagan released his long-awaited debut album ‘Textures’. Recorded between London and Accra, ‘Textures’ draws out a range of Afro-influenced sounds while listing the collaboration of emerging talents across the vibrant landscape of contemporary African music, culminating in a stunning debut that showcases Hagan’s carefully honed production skills. Since Hagan has gone on to release an EP on Soulection’s White Label and received acclaim from Notion, Mixmag, Resident Advisor and nominated by DJ Mag’s Best Of British Awards in 2022 for ‘Best Album’.

Based in South London, Hagan’s sound merges his Ghanaian heritage with dark melodic gritty UK bass sounds. Within his productions, he draws from a global sonic palette with GQOM, Baile Funk, Afrobeats and of course, UK Funky all featuring throughout. Storming onto the scene with his standout release “Deep In The Village” in 2011, fast forward to 2017 his critically acclaimed album ‘Aburi’, featured club favourites “FWD” and “Detect”.

‘Textures’ shows a maturation in sound. Fierce, direct and unbelievably danceable, we are grateful for Hagan's insight into how he makes his bangers in this Artist Talk.
